So you’re coming to Paris and would like a “home away from home” for your trip? Some travelers craving an apartment might automatically go to the Airbnb website (or a similar company), however, there’s another option we prefer to recommend – apart-hotels. A mix of a hotel room and apartment rental, apart-hotels allow you to have apartment-style accommodation without the disadvantages of an Airbnb rental (which we’ll go over below). From hip to elegant and from affordable to luxurious, here are some of the best apart-hotels in Paris.

Why we recommend an apart-hotel over an Airbnb

While Airbnb and other international apartment rental companies have become very popular over the last decade, they can have some very adverse effects on the local housing market, especially in cities like New York, London, Barcelona, and Paris. In addition to tightening the housing supply for locals and increasing rental rates, when you rent an Airbnb apartment you can’t easily switch rooms if there’s a problem (like flooding, which is fairly common in Paris), can’t check in whenever you want nor leave your luggage before or after your booking AND you have to clean like at home – not the most appealing activity when you’re on holiday.

Travelers can be attracted to apartment rentals to have a living room or sofa for relaxing and a kitchenette for preparing breakfast and light meals. You have all these features, as well as other benefits like daily or regular cleaning, air conditioning, and staff to assist you with questions, when you book an apart-hotel, such as the ones we’ve brought together in our list below.
