Take a romantic stroll along the Seine River

Taking a daytime or dusk stroll along the Seine is one of the most romantic things to do in Paris. If you’re going to do it alone, I recommend taking the walkways along the water’s edge. The stretches from Place du Chatelet to the Louvre and from the Musée d’Orsay to the Pont d’Alma are really pretty and feature many of the city’s top sites. However, if you’d like to learn a little about the sites you’re walking past, consider booking this private evening stroll. The 2.5-hour tour takes you past some of the most beautifully lit sites along the river which are truly enchanting and VERY romantic.

Make your own chocolates

If you’d like to add a bonding element to a sweet-lovers activity in Paris, join one of these fantastic chocolate classes. I tried it out and ADORED every minute. Taking place in a cooking school near Montmartre, thanks to the guidance of a trained chef, you’ll learn the art of making chocolate from bars to truffles. Of course, you’ll do some sampling during the process, but you’ll also leave with a box filled with your creations.

See the city on a champagne river cruise

I’m not a big fan of the large cruise boats on the Seine, BUT the smaller boat companies, like this one, are a great way to experience the city from the water. Departing at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, the hour-long cruise is accompanied by a sommelier who leads a tasting of three champagnes. So the experience gives you a chance to learn about champagne while also taking in the city in an extra sparkling way.

Create your own bottle of wine

If you or your partner is a wine fan, then you won’t want to miss out on these cool workshops. There’s no need to visit a vineyard outside of the city, you can make your own wine within the great setting of historic wine cellars commissioned by King Louis XV. Conducted by a sommelier, you’ll first learn about the wine-making process and different grape varietals before testing out your knowledge by making your own blend. You’ll get to create a personalized wine label and leave with your custom-designed bottle of wine – now that’s a very cool and very romantic Paris souvenir.
