Breakfast in America

The “original” American-style diner in Paris, as you can imagine by its name, this eatery serves excellent classic breakfast food. Although we normally wouldn’t recommend something too typically American for anyone visiting Paris, the diner actually attracts more French customers than foreigners. It has two branches, one on the edge of the Latin Quarter and the other in the Marais, both with booth-style seating, unlimited American drip coffee and a menu of eggs any style, omelets, French toast, and, something you won’t find at the others on our list, breakfast burritos.

Brasserie des Deux Palais

If you’d like a classic French café for breakfast – without the hype of Les Deux Magots or the Café de Flore – this historic café is a great choice. Well positioned on Ile-de-la-Cité, it’s also a good spot for breakfast before visiting Notre-Dame, the Sainte Chapelle, or Conciergerie. You can opt to order à la carte of a selection of croissants, pains au chocolat, baguette with jam, or one of two breakfast menus, which can include fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs, and a hot beverage.
