Paris is bursting with FANTASTIC shops, so if you’re hoping to scoop up a few treasures to take home, you’re absolutely in luck. Sure, you’ll find plenty of “souvenir shops” clustered around the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, but let’s be honest, most of the stuff they sell is mass-produced and of pretty bad quality. Instead, stop in at my favorite unique souvenir shops in Paris, where you can find everything from tasty food items to cool stationery, artsy pieces, and gorgeous jewelry that’s actually made in France.

When I need gifts for friends, this cheerful boutique near Canal St-Martin is my go-to (it’s also on Day 4 of our Paris Itinerary). It’s one of the most fun and unique souvenir shops in the city and the prices are really reasonable, too. You’ll find funky socks, cute notebooks, pretty jewelry, original toys, and there’s even a tiny vintage corner. Most of the items are made in France, which is a definite plus.

Messy Nessy’s Cabinet

Now, this is definitely one of the quirkiest shops in Paris. Created by writer/curiosity-hunter Messy Nessy, the concept store has a carefully curated selection of Paris-themed books and eclectic design items. Tucked away on a quiet street in the Latin Quarter, and right on the walking route of Day 2 of our Paris itinerary, finding it feels like part of the adventure.

Looking for a whimsical Paris treasure? Then pop by the magical boutique of French illustrator Marin Montagut. Found near the Luxembourg Gardens, it’s filled with beautifully crafted silk scarves, delicate tableware, notebooks, and other charming pieces that feel oh-so-French. Everything is made locally and a million times more special than an Eiffel Tower keychain.

If you’re on the hunt for fantastic chocolates or candies, then you definitely HAVE to visit this shop. Opened all the way back in 1761, their original boutique in the 9th district is extra photogenic, but they also have about a dozen other branches in the city. The packaging alone makes for gorgeous gifts, but their chocolates, nougat, and candies are completely divine.

Mon Atelier des Rêves

There are some way too many tacky souvenir shops at the top of Montmartre, but a short walk away is this gem. It’s a lovely independent boutique featuring jewelry, accessories, and design pieces crafted by real French artisans. I’ve found great gifts here and even a purse for myself. You’ll pass it on Day 3 of our Paris itinerary.

La Mouette Rieuse Bookshop

This funky, creative bookshop is perfect for picking up Paris-themed gifts without weighing down your suitcase. They’ve got books (some in English), adorable stationery, and decorative items that make great gifts, or souvenirs just for you. Plus, there’s a sweet little café in a glassy sunroom at the back, overlooking a quiet garden. It’s the ideal pitstop while exploring the Marais.

The great local Les Batignolles neighborhood has several cool concept stores, but this cozy little shop is the star. Expect pretty stationery, chic scarves, stylish accessories, and lovely home décor (I LOVE their Paris posters). You can stop by it and the other great concept stores in the area on Day 5 of our Paris Itinerary.

If you’re after a truly special art or design piece to take home, this North Marais shop is worth the detour. It features exclusively French artisans, with info about the creators right next to their work. You’ll find elegant ceramics, leather goods, jewelry, and all sorts of beautifully made items. Plus, this corner of the Marais is loaded with excellent shops, so you’ll be able to do some more shopping while you’re in the area.

France’s most famous mustard brand has a GORGEOUS shop in Place de la Madeleine. In addition to their specialty mustards (that you can sample in the shop), it has all kinds of other food items and Frenchie souvenirs like tea towels and aprons. Some things are a splurge, but there are plenty of affordable goodies under 10€ too.

Marché Vernaison

If flea-market treasure hunting is your thing, you’ll fall in LOVE with this charming section of the massive Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen. Located on the edge of Paris, it’s the world’s largest flea market, and can be a tad overwhelming – which is why I suggest starting with this section. It’s a maze of little lanes and tiny stalls where you can stumble upon quirky souvenirs, vintage finds, and all sorts of “I can’t believe I found this” gems. You’ll find some other useful tips on visiting the flea market in our Paris Day Trips Guide.
