Can you store your luggage at your Paris hotel?
If you’re staying at a hotel in Paris, most will let you leave your luggage before or after you check in. It’s a good idea to check with your hotel in advance that they store luggage and if there is a fee. Paris hotels usually store luggage for free, but some hostels might charge a small fee. Hotel luggage storage rooms are generally safe, however, they aren’t always strictly supervised nor under lock and key, so you may want to bring any valuables, such as jewelry, laptops, or your passport, with you.
Can you store your luggage at a Paris Airbnb?
In general, apartment rentals do not allow you to store luggage, but you can always ask your host. This is one of the many reasons why we don’t recommend using Airbnb, in addition to the many negatively impacts short-term apartment rentals have on the local housing market.
Can you store your luggage at Paris museums or monuments?
Most museums have a cloakroom or lockers, but they only accept SMALL bags, like backpacks, tote bags, or a few small shopping bags. So if you have just a small backpack, that’ll be fine, but you won’t be able to store carry-on-sized rolling suitcases at most Paris museums. Some lockers require a one-euro coin to activate, which is returned when you put the key back into the locker and open it. So if you’re thinking of doing this, you may want to come prepared with some change.
The Eiffel Tower has NO storage facilities and visitors’ bags cannot exceed 40cm x 20cm x 55cm (15.7″ x 7.9″ x 21.7″), so don’t leave visiting the tower for your last day if you’ve got a good-sized backpack or carry-on with you. If you do, don’t fret as there are some paid storage locations near the tower – see these below.
Luggage Storage at Paris Airports
If you have a long layover in Paris or an overnight stay and don’t want to lug your big suitcase into town, the city’s two main airports both have luggage storage facilities, Beauvais airport doesn’t have a left-luggage service but NannyBag (see more details below) has a storage partner a short walk away. The CDG and Orly storage services are rather pricey, but you can save money by taking public transit into the city, a journey that’ll be made much easier without a suitcase in tow. Here’s where you can find them:
↳ Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)
You can find the luggage storage office (called Bagages du Monde) in Terminal 2 near the TGV/RER train station, on level 4, opposite the Sheraton Hotel. It has 100% secure lockers and the room is video-monitored.
- Hours: 7 am to 9 pm daily (including public holidays)
- Fees: €3-€8 for up to 3 hours, €10-€34 for 24 hours (fee based on luggage weight)
- More info
↳ Orly Airport (ORY)
Paris’s smaller airport, the left luggage office, also operated by Bagages du Monde, is found in terminal 3 on level 0.
- Hours: 7 am to 9 pm daily (including public holidays)
- Fees: €3-€8 for up to 3 hours, €10-€34 for 24 hours (fee based on luggage weight)
